What It Does
Allows a Designer to inject custom JavaScript into the site.
Custom JavaScript is added to the entire site, not a single page.
How to Use
- In the Builder, open the left rail and scroll down to expand “Site Settings”.
- Click “Open site custom Javascript” under “Edit Custom JavaScript” to open the JavaScript modal.
- Input custom JavaScript into the JavaScript modal and click “Update Code”.
- Ensure that the JavaScript is properly formed. Improperly formed JavaScript will not display content as desired. F92 cannot provide troubleshooting for custom JavaScript.
- To see these changes on the Preview site link, click “Save & Publish”.
Use only trusted and tested scripts. Malformed or insecure JavaScript can impact performance, security, and user experience.
Behavior
- The custom JavaScript runs across the site (all pages), subject to where the scripts execute (e.g., on load, on specific events).
- The custom JavaScript will display on the preview and live site, subject to where the scripts execute.
- The custom JavaScript may or may not display in the Builder, subject to what the JavaScript is or does.
- The exact appearance and behavior depend on what custom JavaScript has been added to the site.
- Use with care to avoid layout issues, accessibility problems, or conflicts with existing components.
- Custom JavaScript should not be used for content or style decisions that can be supported by existing components or features that function with the existing website review workflow.
